Preserving Heritage.
Honouring Legacies.
Serving Community.

For generations, the Earltown Church Cemetery has stood as a sacred place of rest and remembrance — a living record of the families who shaped this corner of Nova Scotia. We are committed to its care, dignity, and preservation.

Our Purpose & Direction

Two founding principles guide everything we do — our Mission defines our daily commitment, and our Vision shapes the future we are building together.

Dedicated to Preservation & Care

To preserve and maintain the Earltown Church Cemetery as a sacred place of rest and remembrance — ensuring the lasting dignity of all those interred, honouring the deep heritage of our rural Nova Scotia community, and providing compassionate, respectful service to families across generations.

We steward these hallowed grounds with care, maintaining historical records, tending to the landscape, and welcoming all who seek to connect with the lives remembered here.

A Lasting Legacy for Generations

A beautifully maintained, historically significant cemetery that stands as a living testament to the generations who built the Earltown community — a place of enduring peace, quiet reflection, and meaningful connection for all who visit.

We envision a well-resourced, community-supported organization capable of preserving this irreplaceable piece of Nova Scotia's cultural and spiritual heritage for centuries to come.

A Historic Cemetery
with Deep Roots

The Earltown Church Cemetery Company is a registered nonprofit organization (CRA No. 872221668RR0001) nestled in Colchester County, Nova Scotia. We are the stewards of one of the region's oldest and most historically significant burial grounds — a place where the early Scottish settlers of Earltown, and the generations who followed, now rest.

Our volunteer board works tirelessly to ensure that every family's loved ones are honoured with dignity, and that the history preserved within these grounds remains accessible to researchers, genealogists, and community members for generations to come.

The Earltown Church Cemetery is a serene landscape of monuments, heritage trees, and carefully tended grounds — a place of quiet dignity in the heart of rural Nova Scotia.

"The care of the earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it, and to foster its renewal, is our only legitimate hope."
